lyrics
I want to talk to you, but shyness is in your face
You write the words, but no explanation is in its place
When will you open up and show me what you see?
When will I go into your world so I can be with you?
Let me be the one to cheer you up
Let me be the one to sing your song
You walk into the room, hopelessness fills your eyes
You read the tragedies and see the damage in their lives
You say the world is ending, but only in the shattered places
Very little of the truth is written in the papers
You say no one cares, but I care about you
You say no one feels your anger, but I feel it too
My heart can sense it strongly, and the tears in my eyes
Represent the loneliness you feel
I'll sing to you a beautiful dream
Where you feel hope and peace
I'll send you a heavenly choir
To show you the gifts of love
I'll sing to you a beautiful dream
Where you feel joy and happiness
Then you can wake up to a brighter world tomorrow
I'll sing to you a beautiful dream
Where you feel hope and peace
I'll send you a heavenly choir
To show you the gifts of love
I'll sing to you a beautiful dream
Where you feel joy and happiness
Then you can wake up to a brighter world tomorrow

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper

The album takes off nicely with David Longdon's "The Strangest Times", but then gets into immediate free fall and deeply underwater for the next few tracks, quite unexpectedly. Fortunately, it recovers with Nick D'Virgilio's "Apollo" (hey, this guy CAN write good music, although he hides this ability most of the time) and the remaining three tracks, one of which is another Longdon masterpiece. So in the end the final impression is somewhat in the positive range. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)

got recc'd this on youtube and loved it- reminds me a lot of late 60's and early 70's records i used to hear playing out of my parents' stereo on sweltering summer days. OPAL
